HS&E Engineer

The HS&E Engineer will provide overall management and technical leadership of HS&E activities for the Honeywell Safety Products at Hof, Germany location.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain compliance with safety, health and environmental laws and regulations issued by european and local agencies and Honeywell corporate policy.
• Responsible for managing all elements of the HS&E function, including annual operating plan, annual assurance letter process, HS&E management systems deployment, compliance audits, best practices exchange, event reporting and corrective action closures, internal/external reporting and compliance assurance.
• Champion continuous improvement processes relating to six sigma safety, digitized learning and product safety.
• Ensure required training is delivered to all required employees.
• Drive increased awareness of HS&E processes and practices to leadership, operations and administrative groups.
• Integrate and partner with business leaders demonstrating HS&E value in creating a culture supporting prevention and compliance.

• Improved HSER compliance.
• Implementation of a uniform HSER maturity measurement system (scorecard).
• Site leadership expectations and accountability clearly communicated.
• Decreased injury and illness rates resulting in lowered worker compensation costs, improved productivity and morale.
• Reduced environmental liabilities.
• Deployment of a Product Safety Committee to undertake uniform root cause analysis of product safety related defects to prevent reoccurrences.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree (or equivilant) in Health, Safety, Environmental, Business, Engineering or related field.
• 4 + years HS&E leadership experience in a plant environment preferred.
• Strong record of safety performance improvement results.
• A good understanding of business operations (business acumen) including project management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
• Ability to identify potential risks and corrective actions using six sigma approaches.
• Strong bias for action and ability to energize others to work toward the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
• Must have exceptional skills in building interpersonal relationships, including high degree of tact, diplomacy and ability to influence.
• Must be thoroughly conversant with applicable HS&E regulations and company policies.
• Must have English and German languages capability.
